How to Root and install TWRP Recovery on the Amaze 4G running Ice-Crm Sandwich



The Amaze 4G recently got updated to Ice-Crm Sandwich, brking root for devices that werepreviously running Gingerbrd. This post will show you how to root the ICS-running Amaze 4G and install a custom recovery if you plan to flash a custom ROM.By EditAndroidI. Before You Begin1. Make sure that you have an unlockedbootloaderbefore you proceed.2. This solution works for both the Gingerbrd and Ice-crm Sandwich versions of the Amaze 4G.II. Necessary DownloadsDownload and install Drivers HereDownload Amaze-All-In-One-Kit HereIII. Rooting the Amaze 4G1.ExtractAmaze_All-In-One_Kit_V3.2.rarthat you downloaded above to afolderon your desktop.2. From the extracted folder, runAmaze 3.2.exe.3. If you haven’t installed the necessary drivers alrdy, select Install Drivers and click on Go. Wait for the drivers to install.4. Connect your device to your PC with USBDebugginabled. To enableUSBDebugging, go toSettings > Developer Optionsand tick the USB Debugging checkbox.5. If you haven’t unlocked your bootloader alrdy, follow the instructions in the first section of Hasoon2000 AIO Kit.6. SelectPermRoot (GB/ICS)under the Extras section and click on Run. This will push the SuperSU.zipfileto your device’s SD card and reboot it to recovery.7. Once in recovery, choose Install zip from SD Card.8. LoeSuperSU.zipon your SD card and flash it.9. SelectBackand thenReboot the phone.After reboot, you should be holding an Amaze 4G that is rooted and rdy for all those root-only apps available on Google Play!IV. Flashing Custom Recovery1. Connect your device with USB Debugging enabled.2. Select TWRP 2.1.0 under the Recovery section and click on Flash Recovery.3.
