How to Root the Xperia E Dual



The Xperia E Dual was relsed last January and is a mid-range device fturing 1GHz CPU and runs Android 4.0.4. But don’t you feel you want much more from this middling device, like sayrootaccess? If you concur, rd on to root the Xperia E Dual pretty sily.

Beware that you’ll lose your warranty by doing this!2. Charge your device to 75% or more and back up everything you feel is important before you begin.3. This procedure is designed work on the Xperia E Dual running Ice-Crm Sandwich; do not try this if you are running any otherfirmware.II. Necessary Downloads1. XperiaEDual.elf [Insecure kernel]2.Android.zip[Contains the necessary adb and fastboot files]3. DooMLoRD_v1-ROOT-insecure-busybox-su.zipIII. Flashing the Insecure Kernel1. ExtractAndroid.zipto afolderon your desktop.2. CopyXperiaEDual.elfto the extractedAndroidfolder.3. Power down your device and put it into fastboot mode. To do this, hold the Volume Up button and press thePowerbuttonuntil it boots into fastboot mode.4. Open up a command prompt window to the Android folder. To do this, hold the Shift on yourboardand right-click on theAndroidfolder. Now selectOpen command window here.5. Connect your device toyourPCusing the microUSB cable that came with it. If installs any drivers at this point, let it do so and wait until it is done.6. Run the following commands [do not type what is in the brackets next to the commands as they are an explanation of the command and what it does]fastboot devices[this should show the device connected to your PC as a string of alphanumeric characters, signifying that your device is connected and recognized properly]fastboot flash boot XPERIAEDual.elf[This will flash the insecure kernel to your device]fastboot reboot[Reboots your device]IV. Rooting the Xperia E Dual1. ExtractDooMLoRD_v1-ROOT-insecure-busybox-su.zipto a folder on your desktop.2. Enable USBDebuggingon your device. To do this, go toSettings > Developer Options > Developmentand tick theUSB debuggingcheckbox.3. Enable installation of apps from unknown sources. To do this, go toSettings > Securityand tick theUnknown sourcescheckbox.4. Connect your device using a microUSB cable.5. From the extracted folder, double-click onrunme.batto begin the procedure.6. Follow the on-screen instructions.At the end of the procedure, your Xperia E Dual should be rooted and you should have the SuperSU app appr in yourappdrawer!!!
