How To Unroot and Remove CWM Recovery on Transformer





This unroot method will remove root access from your device and revert you back to a stock configuration. It will also remove ClockworkMod recovery and replace it with the stock recovery. A computer is not necessary for this method so it should be very simple to follow. Note: Plse rd carefully. These instructions are tailored to the US versions of the Transformer. If you have a version other than the US version, the files posted below will not work for you but the procedure would be the same. .By EditAndroidBefore You Begin:Ensure that you have a full charge (or nr full charge) before beginning this process. You just do not want your device to power off in the middle of updating your firmware or recovery.You must have a micro SD card of at lst 2GBDownload Files:1. Download the US or WW version repacked Stock firmware (with SU appliion removed):Note: Make sure you download the correct version for your Transformer. If your version is not listed, do not use these files.US Version

Download the stock Recovery Stock RecoveryRestoring Stock Firmware and Recovery:Reboot into ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery by turning off your device, holding Vol- and Power buttons until the screen turns on, and then press the Vol+ button when prompted.Recommended Step: Navigate and select “backup and restore”. Then choose “backup”. This will backup your current configuration and is just recommended because you should ALWAYS make a backup before modifying anything using CWM Recovery.Navigate to and select “wipe data/factory reset” then confirm that action on the next screen.Installing the stock Firmware: Navigate to and select “install zip from sdcard” then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Now navigate to and select the loion where you placed the file labeled “repacked-8.2.3.13_US_without_SU_app.zip” and confirm that action on the next screen.REBOOT!!! It is VERY important that you reboot now. Failure to reboot before continuing to the next step will most likely result in “soft bricking” your device so REBOOT!Once you reboot and are greeted by the welcome screen, reboot your device into CWM Recovery again.Installing the stock Recovery : Navigate to and select “install zip from sdcard” then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Now navigate to and select the loion where you placed the file labeled “8239USrecovery.zip” and confirm that action on the next screen.Reboot and verify that all traces of root are gone (make sure there is no Superuser app icon in the app drawer).Updating to the Latest Firmware:Make sure you have configured your Wi-Fi connection as you will need internet on your device for this next part.Navigate to Settings > About Tablet > System Update > and select “Check Update”.If an update is available it will begin downloading. When finished downloading, you can click on the notifiion that says “download complete” and you will be prompted to install the update.Rept steps 2 and 3 above until you see “There is no update for your device currently” displayed when you check update.Enjoy your stock, unrooted, and updated Transformer!You Done It!!!
