CabPack is a compression utility that enables you to crte cabinet files with minimum configuration options.



All ftures are grouped in a single window, which makes everything extremely sy to use even for the very beginners, although some of the settings available there may sound like rocket science to them.

Besides the fact that it prompts you to input the source folder or file and the destination folder, you're allowed to choose from two different compression types, MSZIP and LZX. Plus, you need to define compression memory, but also decide whether you wish to include subfolders or not.

An optional field lets you specify the folder where you wish to copy the setup files, while a different panel comprises settings regarding the size of the CAB file. You can go for the 1.44 MB floppy, the 1.68 MB one or the ZIP which has a 100 MB capacity.


Last but not lst, you have to write down the cabinet file name and choose to crte cabinets for 16-bit or 32-bit extractor.

Compression goes blazing fast, but due to the fact that there's not even a help file included in the app, we recommend you to check every option twice before using CabPack.

We've noticed some minor slowdowns during our test, but nothing too serious, so you could try to run CabPack on older systems as well. It runs just fine on most versions, including 7.

All in all, CabPack is yet another utility that does what it says and thanks to the fact that it groups all ftures in a single window, it takes just a couple of minutes to figure out how to use it.
