How to Root/Install TWRP Recovery in the EVO V 4G (Virgin)


The EVO V 4G was the first smartphone by Virgin Mobile to run on the Sprint’s 4G Network, providing ultra-fast speed that the users have never ever seen before on a mobile device. If you purchased this smartphone and have 4G connectivity, hd to the Play Store and download those large apps and games which normally take hours to download on a 3G network. Some of those apps, available on Play Store, may require your device to be rooted. And in the following guide, we’ve compiled all the steps to root the Virgin EVO V 4G smartphone, believe me, it’s so sy!By EditAndroidI. Before You Begin:1. This will void the warranty of your device. However, you can reclaim the warranty by unrooting your device.2. We’d recommend to fully charge your device before doing this procedure. If you can’t, make sure it has at lst 70% of battery life left.3. You must have unlocked thebootloaderof your device. Visit theHTevwebsite to do so.II. Downloading Required Files:1.TWRP Recovery 2.Superuser ZIP3.FastbootIII. Rooting the Virgin EVO V 4G:1. Download and place all three files on your Desktop.2. Extract files from the Fastboot archive to your Desktop. Do NOT launch any file just yet.3. Rename the Recovery you downloaded torecovery.img. It’ll make it sier to type during the command steps.4. On your device, hd toMenu>>Settingsand disableFastboot.5. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.6. Copy theSuperuserZIP over to the root of your SD card.7. Disconnect the device after file has been copied.8. Enable USBdebuggingon your device by going toMenu>>Settings>>Appliions>>Development>>USB debugging.9. Connect your device to your PC once again.10. Open aCommandPromptWindow on your Desktop. To do so, press and hold theShiftbutton on yourboardand right-click on any empty ar on the screen, then chooseOpen command window here.11. Type in the following command into the Command Prompt Window:adb reboot bootloader12. Your device should reboot into the bootloader mode.13. Now, type in the following command to flash recovery:fastboot flash recovery recovery.img14. When it has done flashing recovery, issue the following command:fastboot boot recovery.img15. Your device should boot-up into theRecoveryMode.16. In the Recovery, hd toWipeMenu and chooseWipeCachndWipe Dalvik Cache.17. Get back to the main menu and chooseInstall zip.18. Navigate to SD card of your device and select theSuperuserZIPfilefor flashing.19. Reboot your device after the file is flashed.20. And you’re done now!Wooh!
