How to Root the Verizon Droid Charge (I510) running Android 2.3.x (FP5)
Now that you have the required custom recovery, the next step is to root the Droid Charge to gain root access so you can customize your device the way your manufacturer didn’t want you to. Back up everything you feel is important just in case.4. This procedure only works on the Droid Charge running stock Verizon FP5 (Android 2.3) firmware. Connect your device to your PC and copySuperuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zipto your device.2. Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery. To do this,i. Power down your device.ii. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons until you see the logo appr.iii. Relse the Power button but continue holding the Home and Power button until you get to CWM3. Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to navigate to and highlightMounts and Storage, and press the Power button to select it.4. Highlight and selectMount system.5. Go back to the main menu.6.
